Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program.
• Eligibility to fulfill requirements to become nationally recognized as a Certified Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Dons operating room attire and PPE.
• Gathers, checks, and opens supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Sets up sterile table/tray with instruments, supplies, and medications.
• Performs surgical scrub and assists in gowning/gloving.
• Prepares operating rooms for surgery and ready patients for procedures.
• Assists RN and surgeons by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
• Maintains sterile environment and prevents infections.
