Job summary

Advocate Health in the U.S. is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the 36802 Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center – Gastrointestinal Services. You will prepare materials and equipment, assist surgeons, and help maintain a sterile, efficient operating room.

This full‑time role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS within 6 months. No experience is required. Strong teamwork, communication and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for various surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment used in the operating room.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care.
• Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials; passes instruments as needed.
• Transports patients and equipment; ensures equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
