Job summary

WVU Hospitals is seeking an unlicensed assistive personnel to support surgical and procedural teams in Morgantown, WV. You will perform direct patient care activities under RN supervision, assist with supplies, and maintain sterile processing workflows.

Responsibilities include transportation, positioning, and routine room turnover, with weekend day shifts. Basic life support certification within 30 days is expected, along with a high school diploma and PCA orientation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative support activities to assist the nursing team caring for surgical patients.
• Utilizes aseptic technique to open sterile supplies and assists with prep and positioning.
• Transports patients and cleans equipment, maintaining supply carts and inventory.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary work environment in procedural areas and Sterile Processing.
• Documents patient measurements and transports specimens as directed.
• Assists with room setup, clerical duties, and transports medications as directed.
