Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX, is seeking an Environmental Service Assistant for day shifts to support the operating room. Schedule alternates: 6:30am–3:00pm, Mon–Fri one week, then Sun 8:00am–4:30pm the following week. The role includes cleaning, sterile setup, and patient transport within the OR area.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare and set up sterile supplies, instruments and equipment for use during surgery.
• Transport patients between care units as needed.
• Handle transport and disposition of specimens and cultures.
• Obtain blood products from Transfusion Services and return unused products.
• Assist staff with room turnover and patient flow between cases.
• Operate cleaning machines and equipment as assigned.
• Perform duties for cleaning between cases: remove trash, soiled linens, beds, floors.
