Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a Surgical Services Attendant in Philadelphia to support surgical teams with patient transports, positioning, and equipment setup across operating and procedural rooms.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and the ability to teach and assist in sterile technique. The position involves lifting, standing for long periods, and collaboration with Biomed teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Aseptic technique knowledge and understanding of surgical procedures.
• Ability to teach skills required of a surgical service attendant.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Performs a variety of service and patient care activities that support the care team in providing quality healthcare to each patient, including patient transports and positioning, transport of specimens to the lab, and equipment setup.
• Responsible for cleanliness, stocking, and upkeep of all Operating/procedural rooms and daily supply orders.
• Participates in coordinating equipment repair in collaboration with Biomed team and Vendors.
• Participates in onboarding and training of new staff members to the role of surgical service attendant.
• Accepts additional duties with a positive attitude and is supportive of the unit.
