Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a Surgical Services Attendant to support nursing staff by transporting and positioning patients, and assisting with the setup and turnover of operating rooms. You will help move equipment, specimens, and supplies, while maintaining room readiness and cleanliness.

Your role includes participating in equipment checks, coordinating repairs with Biomed and vendors, and onboarding new staff to ensure proper sterile technique and workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and BLS certification.
• Understanding of aseptic technique and surgical environments.
• Ability to position patients and set up/ turnover of OR/procedural rooms.
• Willingness to train and onboard new staff in surgical service Attendant role.

Responsibilities

• Transport and position patients; assist with specimen transport to lab and blood bank products.
• Set up equipment for procedures and maintain room turnover protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of operating/procedural rooms and supplies.
• Assist in coordinating equipment repairs with Biomed and vendors.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new staff for the role.
