Job summary

The ORA provides direct and indirect patient care, participates in staff development, and assists with emergency procedures as directed by an RN Circulator. Compensation is hourly with defined pay ranges across the health system.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care.
• Maintain aseptic environment; report issues to nurse.
• Complete mandatory in-service updates and attend meetings.
• Maintain and restock supply par levels; restock equipment.
• Remain in area to assist transporting patients.
• Answer phones and assist in pre-op and post-op areas.
• Assist with pre-op admission and post-op discharge prep.
• Set up equipment for procedures and traumas.
• Ensure O2 tank availability and secure transport.
• Turn over OR room using aseptic process between cases.
• Prepare patients for morgue as assigned.
• Communicate effectively; model professional behavior.
• Initiate emergency procedures under RN direction.
• Complete end-of-day logs and pass on open issues.
• Mentor and precept new employees.
• Participate in infection control audits and education.
