Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is seeking an Operating Room RN to join a collaborative surgical team. You will evaluate patients pre-operatively, educate families about procedures, and prepare patients with IV therapy, preoperative medications and site verification.

You will participate in safety protocols, respond to emergencies, and provide high-quality, patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN with an Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of start date
• No travel required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative process
• Prepare patients (IV therapy, preoperative meds, site verification)
• Engage in surgical site verification per policy (briefing, timeout, debriefing)
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, techs and other team members
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes during shifts
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up
