HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse for our TriCities Hospital in Virginia to evaluate patients pre-surgery, educate families, and assist in perioperative care. You will work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse (RN) with Virginia license or compact multistate license.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocol steps.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and clinical leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes and care.
• Educate patients and families on medical condition, treatment, and follow-up.

Education
