Job summary

HCA Florida JFK North Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. You will provide safe, high-quality perioperative care and work with surgeons, anesthesia and surgical staff to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact), BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least one year of acute care OR experience. You will participate in site verification, patient education, and continuous improvement initiatives in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Florida RN license, or Compact Licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of one year acute care RN experience in a Hospital OR.
• Fingerprinting required.
• Call required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, etc.).
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
