Job summary

Westerly Hospital is seeking a Professional Registered Nurse for the Operative Suite and PACU. The RN will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative services.

Qualified candidates are RN-licensed in Rhode Island with BLS and ACLS, and have strong clinical competence, teamwork, and documentation skills to support operating room and recovery activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN licensure in Rhode Island (or eligible) with current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the Operative Suite and PACU.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per policy; ensure accuracy using Pyxis.
• Demonstrate professional behavior, participate in performance improvement, and support teamwork.
• Ensure patient comfort, safety, and dignity; monitor and respond to patient changes.
• Prepare OR for procedures; assist with scrubbing, circulating, and post-anesthesia care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication with the surgical team.
