Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide peri-operative care in the operating room and, when assigned, in the post-anesthesia care area. You will scrub or circulate during procedures, administer meds, start IVs, manage charting, and monitor patients under physician guidance.

Responsibilities include planning and adapting nursing care plans, recognizing changing patient conditions, and mentoring nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Rhode Island RN licensure current and in good standing.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Rhode Island nursing license required.

Responsibilities

• Renders professional nursing care in peri-operative and post-anesthesia areas.
• Assist during surgical procedures as scrub or circulating nurse.
• Review charts, administer medications, start IVs, hang blood, monitor vitals.
• Participate in planning and implementing nursing care plans.
• Assess and modify treatments with physician consultation as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate changes timely.
• Provide education and supervision to junior staff as requested.
