Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking an RN – Registered Nurse for the Operating Room, with a 0.9 FTE schedule and on-call/ weekend availability. The RN will care for patients using the nursing process, manage instrumentation and collaborate with the health care team to provide safe, effective perioperative care.

Required MI RN license, BLS/CPR, and BSN preferred; ACLS and PALS may be required or preferred depending on unit. New hire incentive available.

Qualifications

• BLS/CPR certified required.
• ACLS preferred for certain units; must obtain ACLS within 60 days/1 year depending on unit.
• PALS preferred for pediatric areas; ACLS recert every 2 years.
• RN must be licensed as a Michigan Registered Professional Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and plan care using nursing process.
• Implement physician orders and nursing plans.
• Ensure safety, patient education, and documentation.
• Supervise and direct staff as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate care across units.
