Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is hiring an RN Staff Nurse to provide professional care and assume responsibility for a group of patients. The role involves clinical nursing duties, care planning, and collaboration with the health care team in a dynamic setting.

The position requires Michigan RN licensure and a current BLS/CPR certificate. ACLS and PALS are preferred for certain units, with timely certification requirements. Weekends and on-call duties vary by shift.

Qualifications

• Michigan RN licensure is required.
• Current BLS/CPR provider is required.
• ACLS is preferred for Endoscopy and Level 4/5 RN roles; must obtain ACLS within 60 days or within a year depending on unit.
• PALS is preferred for certain units; ACLS/PALS recertification may be required within specified timelines.
• Experience in specialty areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychological, cognitive, social, and discharge needs.
• Develop and implement care plans and nursing diagnoses.
• Perform nursing procedures and support physician orders.
• Document accurately in the patient care record.
• Educate patients and families and uphold patient rights.
• Maintain safety and quality standards; participate in emergency and team activities.
