Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Chicago, IL is seeking an Operating Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation of facility systems across JLL-managed properties. You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment with a focus on reliability and energy efficiency, delivering strong client service.

The role requires four+ years on high-pressure steam systems, a City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License, EPA Universal Certification, and active Local 399 membership.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with two years of college or related trade schooling.
• Minimum of four years' experience working with high pressure steam systems.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License; EPA Universal Certification.
• Current member in good standing with Local 399.
• Must be physically capable to lift 80 lbs, climb ladders and work in large campus-like settings.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility systems in compliance with applicable government and regulatory requirements.
• Perform maintenance and monitor repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, control, and fire life safety systems.
• Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum performance levels.
• Respond to client inquiries promptly and review monthly summaries to identify recurrent issues.
• Monitor pricing and quality of outside contractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and standards.
• Assist site Facility Management with emergencies including fire alarms and hazardous conditions.
