Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Operating Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical facility equipment. You will work with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant systems to keep buildings performing at peak efficiency.

This on-site role emphasizes safety, quality, and vendor management, with ongoing preventive maintenance, readings, and adjustments to ensure reliable services for clients.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in at least one craft area: Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations
• Multi-skilled capabilities across various building systems and equipment types
• Experience with facility services, preventative maintenance, and inventory control processes
• Knowledge of safety protocols for hazardous material storage, usage, and disposal
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems
• Understanding of quality control processes and vendor management
• Capability to work independently and complete daily/weekly work assignments effectively

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to maintain facility standards
• Execute preventative maintenance programs including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC systems and associated equipment performance
• Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of all facility systems
• Review monthly client service request summaries to identify and resolve recurrent operational problems
• Monitor and evaluate vendor and supplier performance regarding quality standards and competitive pricing
• Verify accuracy of deliveries including count, pricing, and product descriptions
• Conduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure operational readiness
