Job summary

Berklee College of Music seeks a Departmental Assistant to support the Opera Program at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Responsibilities include coordinating rehearsal schedules, handling communications, preparing spaces for events, and assisting with program materials.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with departmental activities.
  • Ability to read music notation and IPA knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft suites.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a communication liaison between opera office personnel and students.
  • Assist in creating the weekly music rehearsal schedule and department event programs.
  • Prepare spaces for rehearsals, concerts, and masterclasses including attendance and guest handling.
  • Perform clerical duties and organize digital materials in Google Drive.
  • Prepare application materials for competitions such as the National Opera Association Production Competition.
  • Research as directed for various departmental needs.
  • Support the Opera Program and faculty as needed.
