Job summary

Frost Bank is seeking a Staff Engineer – Midrange to lead OpenShift initiatives and coordinate cross-functional teams across IT and business units. You will develop automation, drive reliability, and guide architecture for enterprise OpenShift deployments.

The role emphasizes collaboration, strategic planning, and ongoing optimization of complex systems, with a focus on security, performance, and scalability in Frost Bank's technology environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
• 6+ years of experience diagnosing and resolving intricate issues across interconnected programs and systems
• 3+ years of experience architecting, building, and supporting production OpenShift clusters
• Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes storage such as PortWorx
• Experience with ArgoCD (GitOps) technology and best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced experience with Microsoft 365 Technologies and Azure AD

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, configure, and support OpenShift systems and applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards
• Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve complex OpenShift issues and escalations to minimize downtime
• Perform root cause analysis and document resolution strategies for long-term stability
• Collaborate with IT teams, management, and business units on cross-functional projects
• Develop automation tools for provisioning, management, and security in OpenShift environments
• Identify and lead enhancement projects for systems and applications
• Lead technical teams and provide direction on complex technical issues
