Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-stakeholder open source communities.
  • Experience conducting biomedical research in academia or industry.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, develop, modify, debug, deploy, and evaluate highly complex interface, software, and/or infrastructure solutions in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
  • Work with domain scientists to identify friction in their research workflows, emphasizing data integration and sharing.
  • Establish reusable frontend components and visual language for interdisciplinary workflows.
  • Prepare and approve user and developer documentation; set technical requirements.
  • Maintain 1–4 projects within the open source ecosystem; contribute features and reviews.
  • Develop project plans as part of an interdisciplinary team and deliver tasks.
  • Serve as technical lead for software projects of moderate scope.
  • Advance open source practices and provide trainings within UC Berkeley OSPO.
