Qualifications

• Advanced programming in Python and TypeScript for complex research software.
• Experience designing data-rich UI with usability and accessibility.
• Software development with version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience in open source communities and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
• Ability to analyze complex multi-modal datasets and contribute to open standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced software concepts to plan, design, and evaluate complex interface, software, and infrastructure solutions.
• Support maintenance of 1–4 projects in the scientific open source ecosystem.
• Develop project plans within interdisciplinary teams and communicate progress.
• Analyze open source software and devise algorithms for modular systems.
• Enable collaborators to design, reproduce, and extend complex data analyses across varied pipelines.
• Stay up to date on research and software engineering standards, including agentic AI for science.
• Prepare and approve user and developer documentation and set technical requirements.
