Qualifications

• Experience in multi-stakeholder open source communities.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and develop highly complex interfaces and software.
• Maintain 1-4 projects within scientific open source ecosystem.
• Develop project plans and deliver tasks with regular updates.
• Analyze complex open source software and devise modular systems.
• Enable data analyses across multi-modal pipelines with domain scientists.
• Stay up-to-date on agentic AI, security, and accessibility practices.
• Prepare and review user and developer documentation.
• Serve as technical lead on one or two projects.
• Advance UC Berkeley's Open Source Program Office initiatives.
