UNC Pembroke invites applications for Open Rank, Non-Tenure Track, PhD or OD/PhD in Optometric Medicine. The faculty member will teach across classroom, lab, and possible clinical settings, develop courses, assess learning, and mentor optometry students.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility for optometry licensure in North Carolina if an OD is held.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, or supervise at the doctoral/professional level.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to excellence and to serving a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach in classroom, laboratory, and possibly clinical settings.
• Develop and assess courses; supervise and mentor students.
• Engage in scholarly activity consistent with rank and participate in service and governance.
• Support accreditation efforts and model professionalism and ethical conduct.
• Engage with external communities and represent the College in professional settings.
