Job summary

J. Alexander's Restaurant is seeking a Grill Cook to maintain grill temperatures and support an open-kitchen dining experience. You will coordinate with expo, assembler, and management to execute proper food temps and service standards.

The position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to follow sanitation protocols while maintaining a clean station. Flexible to work various shifts in a hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age to operate kitchen equipment.
• 1 yr. previous kitchen / culinary / chef experience on a broiler preferred, but not required. Pay is based on experience and skill.
• Experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, slicer, mixer, stoves, and ovens required.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the temperature of the grill throughout the shift.
• Open-kitchen layout with visibility from the dining room and coordinated positions requiring communication and teamwork.
• Manage ticket orders for proteins and ensure proper food temps and adherence to company specifications.
• Maintain a clean station and workspace and follow sanitation protocols.
• Perform opening duties and closing cleaning duties.
