Job summary

Carle Health in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeon and assist in operative/invasive procedures. The role requires setup of sterile fields, instrument readiness, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure timely, accurate cases.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or Surgical Technology certificate, BLS within 3 months, and 1+ year experience preferred; sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Surgical Technology certificate required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months.
• 1+ year of surgical technology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and suture are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to induction.
• Arrange cases to allow back‑table and mayo stand to be ready.
• Maintain available items and use resources wisely to avoid unnecessary openings.
• Keep motions fluid and avoid redundancy; adapt to case needs.
• Set up time for diverse case types within an acceptable range.
• Collaborate with surgeon and adjust as needed before case start.
• scrub on simple to complex procedures and run mayo as needed.
• Anticipate intraop events and provide timely interventions.
• Communicate clearly with team; coordinate with circulating RN for patient safety.
