Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and provide operative support. You will prepare suture, instruments, and sterile fields, scrub in for cases, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure efficient procedures.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree or a Certificate in Surgical Technology and has at least 1 year of relevant experience, with BLS certification within 3 months. This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in surgical technology highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timely accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are complete and functional, scrubbed prior to induction.
• Set up case back table and mayo stand; organize supplies for quick access.
• Collaborate with surgeon to anticipate needs and adjust for case requirements.
• Run Mayo independently when needed and adapt technique to surgeon preferences.
• Assist with case closing activities including dressing application, transfer and turnover.
• Communicate clearly with circulating RN; contribute to efficient unit operations.
