Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare for diverse operative cases, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with surgeons to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Education: Associate‘s degree in Surgical Technology Or a Certificate in Surgical Technology
• Work Experience: 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and be scrubbed prior to induction.
• Assist with back table setup and mayo organization for case flow.
• Anticipate case needs and prepare for two mayos when needed.
• Collaborate with surgeon and adjust setup as necessary.
• Run mayo independently and adapt to surgeon's technique and preferences.
• Contribute to safe routing and emergency procedures.
• Close cases with dressing application, transfer and turnover.
