Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Desktop Engineer - Tier 1 to support a major modernization at the Washington, DC campus. The role focuses on Windows 11 deployment, advanced troubleshooting, and end-user support for faculty, staff, and students.

You will work with eight colleagues in a hands-on onsite environment, handling escalations, device upgrades, MFA, and security tooling like CrowdStrike while ensuring a smooth upgrade experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior Tier 2, deskside, or advanced help desk experience required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows 11 upgrade lifecycle: backup, deployment, validation, post‑upgrade troubleshooting.
• Fix escalated upgrade failures, drivers, compatibility, and app conflicts.
• Install and configure Microsoft 365 and CrowdStrike on upgrading devices.
• Serve as Tier 2 escalation for Windows, hardware, network, and authentication issues.
• Assist MFA enrollment, login problems, and data migration between devices.
• Provide deskside support for faculty and staff, record work in the ticketing system.
