Job summary

Compass Housing Alliance is seeking a Part-time Program Assistant in the Seattle area to monitor activity, support guests, and maintain a safe environment. This role requires trauma-informed approaches and collaboration with the program services team to connect people with housing navigation, case management, and health services.

The position emphasizes de-escalation, crisis intervention, and compassionate support for guests, with a schedule that includes weekend hours and paid meal breaks.

Qualifications

• Experience in social/human services preferred.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed monitoring to ensure safety, security, and comfort.
• Mediate conflicts and perform de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Assist in program activities including meals, laundry access, and group activities.
• Engage guests to assess needs and provide information and referrals.
• Log actions and report issues to Program Coordinator or Manager.
