Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer for the Hurricane Mesa Test Facility in Virgin, UT. You will support test setup, execution, data analysis, and sled-system testing of aircraft escape mechanisms.

You will operate high-speed cameras, assist with energetic propulsion devices, and collaborate with engineers to prepare fixtures and analyze sled performance and propulsion calculations.

Qualifications

• Engineering, physics, or related technical background.
• Hands-on experience with technical equipment or instrumentation.
• Experience in calculations and interpretation of test data.
• STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and qualify aircraft escape systems and components.
• Set up and operate high-speed cameras to capture test events.
• Support handling of energetic propulsion devices under guidance from senior staff.
• Collaborate on building, modifying, and preparing test fixtures and test articles.
• Perform sled performance data analysis and propulsion/braking calculations.
