Job summary
Collins Aerospace Hurricane Mesa Test Facility (HMTF) is a unique R&D test site that validates ejection seat systems and subsystems using a supersonic rocket sled track. Test activities include sled-track events with aircraft-representative bodies and anthropometric manikins from zero to beyond Mach 1.
You will configure, operate, and verify the facility’s data acquisition system, install sensors, and collaborate with test engineers on measurement plans and data quality across demanding
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with sensor installation and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience working in technical test environments.
Responsibilities
- Configure, operate, and verify the facility’s DAS for sled and subsystem tests.
- Install, maintain, and calibrate sensors including load cells, accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples, and wiring.
- Perform instrumentation functional checks, troubleshooting, and data-quality validation.
- Manage instrumentation documentation including calibration records and channel maps.
- Collaborate with test engineers on measurement plans and integration into sled and fixture hardware.
- Support general test-site operations and safe field work around propulsion and energetic systems.
