Job summary

Collins Aerospace’s Hurricane Mesa Test Facility is seeking a leader to steer day‑to‑day activities for a team of engineers, ensuring test readiness and adherence to strict safety and quality protocols. You will coordinate resources, oversee propulsion and energetic systems integration, and drive continuous improvement across test programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating technical projects and leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Ability to present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.
  • Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day tasking for a team of camera, instrumentation, and electrical engineers; allocate resources and remove roadblocks.
  • Enforce test plans, procedures, and safety protocols; champion checklists before, during, and after events.
  • Define and run the site’s quality framework—SOPs, checklists, calibration, readiness reviews, and lessons learned.
  • Provide quality oversight for propulsion and energetic systems in partnership with engineers.
  • Oversee track loading and final readiness steps; act as deputy during TRRs and test days.
  • Align engineering tasks, materials, and staffing to program schedules; manage external communications.
  • Coach and cross‑train the team on safety and quality behaviors.
  • Identify and implement data‑integrity improvements to increase repeatability and reduce risk.
  • Perform field work on a large test range with desert conditions and heavy equipment.
