Job summary

Lindahl Reed is hiring an Onsite Team Lead / Project Manager to lead a multidisciplinary technical services team supporting the operation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, and life-cycle support of meteorological observing systems, software, laboratory equipment, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite leadership and oversight for all assigned work; coordinate multidisciplinary personnel and ensure work aligns with customer objectives.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for customer leadership and maintain availability during business hours.
  • Collaborate with customer representatives to develop task plans, staffing allocations, schedules, milestones, and deliverables; monitor execution and communicate concerns.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports detailing work performed, technical progress, schedule status, risks, and recommendations; lead progress reviews.

Description/Job Summary

Lindahl Reed is hiring an Onsite Team Lead / Project Manager to lead a multidisciplinary technical services team supporting the operation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, and life-cycle support of meteorological observing systems, software, laboratory equipment, and related infrastructure. This key personnel position will be accountable for the quality, timeliness, coordination, and execution of all team activities and will serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for customer leadership.

The ideal candidate is a decisive, collaborative leader with hands-on experience managing technical test and evaluation work in a mission-focused environment. The candidate will translate customer priorities into actionable work plans, coordinate staff across multiple functional areas, manage schedule and performance risks, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and resolve issues under pressure while maintaining high standards for safety, security, quality, and professional conduct.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite leadership and oversight for all assigned work; coordinate multidisciplinary personnel, assign and prioritize activities, and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer objectives.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for customer leadership. Maintain availability during established business hours and respond promptly to requests for discussion, technical problem resolution, or corrective action.
  • Collaborate with customer representatives to develop task plans, staffing assignments, schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Monitor execution, identify dependencies, and communicate potential schedule, cost, quality, or performance concerns early.
  • Prepare clear weekly progress reports summarizing work performed, technical progress, schedule status, travel, risks, concerns, and recommendations. Lead recurring progress reviews and keep stakeholders informed of team performance and emerging issues.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field; an advanced technical degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) or recognized project management certification may also satisfy the requirement.
  • At least 4 years of experience supervising technical test and evaluation projects involving meteorological sensors, software, and equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project planning, execution, monitoring, and control, including work planning, staffing, scheduling, milestone management, performance tracking, and corrective action.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, communicating, and mitigating program and operational risks in a technical environment.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams; build productive stakeholder relationships; negotiate priorities; resolve conflicts; and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and resolve issues effectively.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-ready status reports, technical progress summaries, schedules, and recommendations using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work onsite, communicate fluently in English, safeguard sensitive information, comply with applicable facility safety and security requirements, and obtain any role-related technical or laboratory certifications required after hire.
