Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Nantucket Cottage Hospital seeks an experienced systems administrator to maintain, support, and optimize multiple systems and applications. You will perform proactive rounds, monitor alarms, and address operational issues to ensure reliable, secure operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 5-7 years of systems/applications administration experience.
• Proficient with operating systems, networking, and database management.
• Experience with scripting languages.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounding and check-ins with departments to proactively identify system concerns and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor system performance, alarms, temperature and control conditions, and other operational indicators to identify and address potential issues.
• Triage and provide break-fix support for emergent system issues, prioritizing needs and coordinating resolution to minimize disruption to operations.
• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot systems, applications, computer equipment, and peripheral devices.
• Maintain system efficiency and stability while supporting security and data integrity.
• Respond to system outages and service interruptions and provide escalation support as appropriate.
• Support and mentor systems administrators and other team members within the department.
• Perform application administration activities, including creating, modifying, and removing user access and supporting secure access to applications and databases.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule software, hardware, system, and operating system updates with department leadership.
• Develop and maintain processes, technical documentation, backup procedures, test plans, and operational reports.
• Prioritize and respond to service requests, providing timely communication and follow-up to departments and stakeholders.
• Participate in Mass General Brigham projects and initiatives supporting quality, patient experience, integration goals, and operational improvements.
