Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is hiring a Switchboard Operator for a 40-hour day shift on-site. You will operate the telephone control board and paging system, dispatch calls to clinical staff, and support after-hours paging as needed.

This non-exempt role requires high school diploma and proficiency with MS Office (Excel) and strong communication. We offer a stable health system environment with opportunities to work closely with patient care teams, with schedule details including

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge and experience with MS Office products (specifically EXCEL).
• Must have accurate keyboarding skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to include proper vocabulary, spelling, grammar and sentence structure.
• Good customer service skills.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and routes incoming calls to appropriate offices or personnel.
• Dispatch emergency Code calls to clinical personnel.
• Processes paperwork in an efficient manner according to set procedures.
