Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Project Subcontracts Specialist to oversee onsite administration and management of subcontract agreements on utility-scale solar or wind projects. You will be the primary commercial contact for subcontractors and collaborate with Project Management, Construction, Procurement, Commercial, and Legal teams to ensure contract compliance, performance, and risk mitigation.

This traveling, project-site role requires you to spend 8-16 months per site across the U.S.,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years administering construction subcontracts on large projects.
• 3+ years field-based contract management.
• Experience with subcontract negotiations, change management, and claims.

Responsibilities

• Administer subcontract agreements for utility-scale solar or wind projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Serve as the primary onsite commercial representative for subcontractors.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations, scope, schedule, and terms.
• Proactively identify risk and propose mitigation strategies.
• Draft and issue notices for performance issues, delays, and scope changes.
• Collaborate to identify and evaluate change events and claims.
• Manage change order processes including pricing, approvals, and execution.
• Track performance, earned value, contract balances, and claims.
• Lead commercial meetings to review contract compliance and risk actions.
• Support dispute resolution and negotiations on schedule impacts and productivity issues.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Commercial, Legal, and Project Controls for consistent practices.
• Assist leadership in mitigating contractual risks.
• Support closeout activities including final accounts and lien releases.
• Capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
