Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to begin as a contingent position with the potential to transition to a permanent role. The on-site position is located in Morristown, IN, focusing on field maintenance of solar equipment with safety as the top priority and opportunities to learn and grow in solar technologies.

The role requires basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Mechanical/electrical environment experience through training or work experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installation/plant.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• NFPA 70e Safety Training certification.
• Remain current in safety and technical trainings.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for training, certifications, and site coverage.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority and all employees follow safe practices.
• Work safely and seek guidance for unfamiliar tasks.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts and/or equipment under supervision.
• Respond on-call as directed to assist in emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
• Assess and suggest improved processes and coordinate with EPC management.
