Job summary

Insight is hiring a Services Technician for an on-site role in Hanover Park, IL. The position involves installation, modification, repair, testing, and servicing of hardware, peripherals, software configurations, and network cabling.

Compensation is $20/hr and the role is a W2 opportunity with a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator. You will support voice, video, and data cabling, configure network devices, and perform diagnostics to ensure minimal downtime for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• LANs, WANs, Personal Computers, messaging and server software experience required.
• Cable plants, network services, email, bulletin boards, and CD-ROM libraries needed.
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques required.
• Remotely manage devices to determine user experiences and debug issues, utilizing knowledge base and call script skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and peripheral repairs, diagnosing problems and minimizing customer downtime.
• Provide telephone support for a geographically dispersed user community.
• Install, test, and configure network and data communication equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN devices).
• Other duties as assigned.
