Job summary
The Leidos Undersea Systems Division seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support a customer site in San Diego, California. This role is the onsite technical lead, interfacing with customer leadership, engineers, fleet personnel, and government representatives to guide systems engineering, test, and integration activities.
Candidates should bring a strong background in naval/maritime systems, program management, and proven ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years in systems engineering or a related field.
- Experience with complex maritime/defense systems.
- Experience engaging with customer, government, and military stakeholders.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as onsite senior technical representative for Leidos at the customer site in San Diego.
- Lead cross-disciplinary engineering activities and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Support program planning, schedule management, and risk tracking.
- Translate operational needs into engineering requirements and recommendations.
- Prepare technical briefings and program status updates for leadership.
