Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a customer site in San Diego, CA. The role involves applying systems engineering, naval operations, test and evaluation, and program management to large-scale fleet activities and maritime missions.

The selected candidate will serve as the onsite senior technical representative, working closely with the Leidos Project Manager, customer leadership, and engineers, Fleet personnel, and government representatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline is required.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering, naval engineering, maritime operations, fleet support, or related field.
• Experience supporting complex maritime, naval, shipboard, submarine, underwater, or defense systems.
• Experience working with customer, government, military, engineering, or operational stakeholders to address technical needs.
• Experience leading or coordinating engineering activities across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite senior technical representative for Leidos at the customer site in San Diego.
• Coordinate with engineers, fleet personnel, government stakeholders, and program leadership to resolve issues.
• Support program planning, scheduling, risk management, and delivery of commitments.
• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines and stakeholder organizations.
• Translate customer operational needs into technically sound engineering approaches, priorities, and requirements.
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings and program-status updates to senior leadership.
