Job summary

Curtiss-Wright in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer for onsite work. You will design 3U/6U VPX SBCs, FPGA and I/O cards, and form-factor systems with security elements, working with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role requires DoD embedded hardware experience, HDI PCB design, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. US citizenship and security clearance preferred; onsite duties and competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of DoD embedded hardware design experience.
• Experience with high-density interconnect (HDI) PCB designs and multi-layer boards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3U and 6U VPX SBC, FPGA, switch, and I/O cards.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, test, and operations teams.
• Support hardware verification, qualification, and production activities.
• Develop and maintain technical procedures, design documentation, and manuals.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drive improvements.
