Job summary

Prime Electric in Washington, DC is seeking a Safety Specialist to support the ongoing implementation and sustainment of health and safety programs. You will work closely with the Safety Director and field teams to promote safe practices and ensure regulatory compliance across projects.

The role requires OSHA 500 and CHST certifications, a four-year degree or equivalent experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel 20% to job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• OSHA 500 Certification required.
• CHST Certification required or equivalent.
• Ability to manage safety on multiple project sites.
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments and changing conditions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Support and sustain health and safety programs across workplaces and jobsites.
• Work with Safety Director to increase safety awareness and eliminate unsafe behaviors.
• Provide safety trainings and orientations for new employees.
• Travel to various jobsites for safety audits and training (about 20%).
• Ensure OSHA/DOSH compliance of policies and procedures.
• Maintain and track incident and investigation reports.
• Assist with incident investigations and equipment inspections.
• Collaborate with field personnel on ergonomics and safe material handling.
• Support warehouse safety equipment inspections and calibrations.
• Uphold PRIME Safety Program and conduct on-site visits to assist project management.
