Job summary

SCT Operations, Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Manager/Specialist to support construction and industrial clients in the Southeast Washington, DC area. The role emphasizes safeguarding workers, leading safety initiatives, and enforcing compliance with OSHA and related standards.

You will conduct risk assessments, investigations, and program audits, while promoting a strong safety culture and coordinating training and incident responses across client sites.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification and 5+ years in construction/manufacturing safety roles.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI/NIOSH/ACGIH/NFPA standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety and health risk assessments at client sites to identify hazards and prioritize mitigations.
• Promote and enforce safety compliance per federal, state, local, and industry standards.
• Lead investigations of injuries, high-risk incidents, illnesses, and near-misses; perform root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Prepare incident reports and track corrective actions to closure.
• Support client safety culture by implementing proactive safety programs and performance improvements.
• Develop, implement, and audit safety and industrial hygiene programs and annual safety audits.
• Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
