Job summary

ERRG is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) in Washington to lead the project Safety and Occupational Health program onsite. You will administer the Accident Prevention Plan, AHAs, and plan compliance for DoD/DOE projects, and supervise field safety activities.

Responsibilities include daily safety inspections, hazard control, incident investigations, and coordination with project leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field.
• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety and Health certification.
• OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification with 8‑hour refresher.
• OSHA 8‑hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Initial training.
• Regular SOH training certificates every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the site‑specific APP, project safety plan, and exposure control plans.
• Review AHAs before each definable feature of work and verify controls.
• Maintain SSHO designation, documentation, and qualifications.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, QC, and client safety representatives.
• Conduct documented daily safety inspections and issue corrective actions.
• Monitor site controls, access, housekeeping, PPE, and emergency routes.
• Coordinate hazard communication and training, incident investigations, and follow‑up actions.
