Job summary

Engineering/Remediation Resources Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to lead project safety programs on hazardous waste operations.

You will administer site safety plans, AHAs, and exposure controls while ensuring regulatory compliance and coordination with the onsite team. Responsibilities include daily safety inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining required training and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, construction management, or a related field.
• Meets SSHO level required by EM 385‑1‑1 (Level 1 SSHO).
• Minimum of 5 years of cumulative safety and occupational health experience within the last 10 years; Level 1 SSHO for hazardous waste projects when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Site Safety Plan Administration: implement and enforce APP, project safety and health plans, AHAs, and PPE controls.
• Field Oversight and Hazard Control: conduct inspections, identify deficiencies, assign corrective actions.
• HAZWOPER and Exposure Management: monitor exposure, recommend controls, ensure training and certifications.
• Training, Meetings, and Documentation: conduct orientation, briefings, and maintain safety records and logs.
• Emergency Preparedness: maintain emergency plans, equipment readiness, and evacuation procedures.
