Job summary

SLSCO Ltd. Federal Services Division seeks an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to lead safety on Design-Build infrastructure projects across the Southwestern United States. You will enforce the Safety Program for federal clients and ensure compliance with APP, AHA, and EM 385-1-1 requirements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of construction safety, federal SSHO experience on large projects, and strong communication skills. This full-time onsite role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience.
• SSHOs on two federal design-build projects valued at ≥$5M.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training.
• Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 requirements.
• Experience with AHAs, field safety inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
• Ability to work full-time onsite on projects.
• U.S. Citizenship and fluent English; background/security checks.
• Proficiency in MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site SSHO ensuring implementation of APP and AHA requirements.
• Report to Project Manager and government to meet safety objectives.
• Attend periodic project meetings and ensure subcontractor compliance.
• Conduct safety orientations and ongoing site safety training.
• Meet 29 CFR 1926.16 and EM 385-1-1 requirements for federal jobs.
• Conduct safety investigations and maintain accident reports.
• Maintain SOH Deficiency Tracking System and monitor resolutions.
• Perform daily safety inspections and enforce best practices.
• Develop follow-on Accident Prevention Plans and AHAs as required.
• Acquire and maintain safety references and postings on site.
• Train and direct staffing of project safety representatives.
