Job summary

IES Communications in Surprise, AZ is seeking a Safety Coordinator to implement and maintain safety programs, deliver training and inspections, and coordinate with site teams to ensure compliance with IES policies and federal/state standards.

EMT or higher credentials preferred; 5+ years in construction safety, strong communication, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to travel and lift up to 50 lbs are required. The role supports a broad safety program across projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• EMT or higher credentials preferred.
• Minimum of five years in construction safety, telecom or electrical.
• OSHA 29 CFR 1926 knowledge preferred.
• Confined Space Entry standards knowledge preferred.
• Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer status.
• CHST certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient MS Office skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact with project stakeholders including field personnel and management.
• Ability to respond to safety emergencies as needed.
• Must meet driving standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support IES and site safety policies, procedures and programs and federal/state standards.
• Ensure implementation of safety policies within divisions and sites.
• Deliver safety training and conduct safety audits/inspections.
• Oversee confined space entry activities and related documentation.
• Conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Lead OSHA inspections and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Prepare safety reports and maintain safety records.
• Mentor stakeholders to uphold safety culture.
• Coordinate with site management and operations.
