Job summary

Formic is looking for a Robotics Field Service Technician to support our expanding fleet of robotic systems across the United States. The role involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and direct customer interaction in uptime-critical environments.

You will work with Engineering and senior field staff to execute preventive maintenance, perform repairs, and document service activities. Travel up to 80% locally, with overnight stays up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on field service or maintenance experience supporting robotic or industrial automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, or robotic control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells following established checklists and procedures.
• Perform directed corrective maintenance and repairs as assigned by engineering, dispatch, or senior technicians.
• Respond to on-site service calls, follow structured troubleshooting steps, and escalate complex or unresolved issues to engineering.
• Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
• Log service activity, asset updates, and spare part requirements in CMMS systems.
• Follow assigned field schedules and coordinate day-to-day logistics with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance using Formic dashboards and fleet tools, and report anomalies to engineering.
• Document service work and follow-up actions with clarity and precision.
