Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Research Technician to support corrective and preventative maintenance of programmatic equipment. You will assist in assembly/disassembly, document tasks, and troubleshoot systems under guidance from senior staff.

Higher level candidates may take on electrical and mechanical repairs, vendor liaison for parts, and detailed work order documentation. A Q clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel and customers.
• Ability to follow safeguards and security procedures in accordance with Laboratory policy.
• Has experience with working to a set of defined requirements and regulations (e.g. chemical management and pressure safety policies).
• Ability to work in a highly regulated, safety, Integrated Work Document (IWD) and checklist environments.
• Demonstrated experience executing job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Proficient computer skills with common applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to obtain a Q-clearance which typically requires US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in corrective and preventative maintenance of programmatically owned equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment and provide feedback to document work tasks.
• Troubleshoot and maintain various programmatic systems from manuals and diagrams with direction from higher level technicians.
