Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico seeks a Senior Electronics Fabrication & Integration Technician to join the Electronics Fabrication Team. You will transform engineering designs into mission-ready hardware, fabricate complex harnesses, and provide feedback throughout design, fabrication, and test cycles.

You will mentor technicians and lead high-reliability hardware delivery across multiple concurrent programs, ensuring safety and quality standards are met in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology with at least 2 years relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Expert knowledge of electronics assembly techniques and workmanship standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA MIL-STD).
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Experience leading complex fabrication, validation, and integration activities.
• Ability to author detailed test documentation (plans/procedures).

Responsibilities

• Lead electronics fabrication, validation, and integration for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements, schedules, and timelines.
• Review assembly drawings and bills of material to improve manufacturability and testability.
• Fabricate and validate high-reliability cable/harness assemblies and other electronics.
• Develop and execute electrical verification testing and document results.
• Operate and maintain electronics test equipment.
• Mentor technicians and provide technical leadership across programs.
• Ensure workmanship standards, quality requirements, and configuration management are followed.
