Job summary

North Wind Group is hiring a Quality Control Manager in Anchorage to oversee on-site QC across federal construction projects. The role requires leading the QC plan, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with contract specs, submittals, and testing regimes.

Ideal candidates bring a 4-year degree in construction or engineering (or equivalent) plus 5+ years QCM experience, RMS and regulatory knowledge, and the ability to obtain required certifications and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field with 5+ years on large federal/DoD projects.
• Alternative: high school diploma/GED plus 7 years as QCM on similar projects with ICC certification.
• Must know RMS, Adobe Pro, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; well organized; able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
• USACE CQM-C certificate or ability to obtain at hire; valid REAL ID driver’s license; pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development and implementation of the Quality Control Plan for all work divisions.
• Establish quality control initiatives and corrective actions.
• Review project specs and submittals for conformance with requirements.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance.
• Coordinate material submittals and track approvals.
• Conduct weekly QC meetings and daily QC reports.
• Manage Non-Conformance Notices and RFIs; resolve issues with project team.
• Document daily quality observations and maintain inspection logs.
